Lobby of a building at JCMUMy name is Janghee Han. I am a South Korean student and a junior at MSU. I am majoring in economics and am very interested in learning Japanese. For these reasons, I chose to spend my first summer in Japan studying Japanese.

Initially, I was unsure about spending the entire summer learning Japanese instead of engaging in other valuable activities. However, I decided to study Japanese at JCMU which is located in Shiga. This experience turned out to be the most valuable of my life. Not only did I learn Japanese, but I was also confident that I understood Japanese culture, and people very well.

During two months in Japan, I developed my language skills significantly and enjoyed participating in cultural activities. I met many wonderful people, which was a great opportunity for social networking. I fully immersed myself in Japanese life, dedicating all my effort and time to studying Japanese. As a result, I achieved an excellent grade at the Japanese institution, which I brought back to MSU. I have no doubt that this will be a valuable asset for my future career. Through this experience, I have no obstacles in applying for a Japanese job due to cultural differences.

I express my gratitude for the scholarship. In macro terms, what seemed like a small opportunity has had a huge positive impact on my life.

If given the chance, I would eagerly participate in another study abroad program in the future. I really want to participate again. As I believe the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Lastly, I was very fortunate to be chosen as the recipient of a study abroad scholarship, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the program this summer. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
