2021 Inspiration Awards Call for Nominations


GenCen and Women*s Student Services are proud to announce the 2021 Inspiration Awards, previously overseen by the MSU Women's Resource Center. The Inspiration Awards highlight MSU employees, MSU students, and Mid-Michigan community members who demonstrate inclusive action and influence in working towards gender equity and social justice.

Call for Nominations: Deadline of October 31, 2020

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Inspiration Awards! Do you know someone who fights for gender equity and social justice in mid-Michigan and/or at Michigan State University? Nominate them for these prestigious awards by 11:59PM on October 31, 2020.

We welcome nominations of all individuals, but especially encourage the recognition of women and individuals from marginalized populations. All nominations must be submitted via Qualtrics, and must include at least one letter of nomination and the nominee's resume or CV. See below for the nomination categories and requirements.

Student Leader

Individuals nominated for the Student Leader award should demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of women and advancing equity through service/volunteerism, mentoring, and/or innovative initiatives, and will exemplify professionalism, achievement, and leadership. The Student Leader award will have two winners: one MSU undergraduate student and one MSU graduate student. Student awardees must be current students in good standing.

        *Explanation of how nominee fits selected category
  • Nominee Resume/CV

Culture of Empowerment

Individuals nominated for the Culture of Empowerment award should demonstrate a dedication to the advancement and empowerment of women in communities locally and/or globally through mentoring, programs, and other leadership opportunities. The Culture of Empowerment award will have two winners: one MSU employee and one Mid-Michigan community member.

        *Explanation of how nominee fits selected category

Community Engagement

Individuals nominated for the Community Engagement award should demonstrate a commitment to advancing equity in communities or organizations through service, volunteerism, mentoring, and/or leadership. The Community Engagement award will have two winners: one MSU employee and one Mid-Michigan community member.

Professional Achievement

Individuals nominated for the Professional Achievement award should demonstrate a unique drive and passion within their career and positively influences the culture of Michigan State University. The winner of the Professional Achievement award will be an MSU employee.
