In Tunisia, where ancient ruins whisper tales of glory and breezes carry hopes, my journey as a dreamer and doer began in Mahdia, a coastal town where history flows through ancient alleyways. As Bara, a young dreamer, I participate in community projects, advocacy, and cultural exploration, empowering both myself and others across Tunisia.

The chapters of my journey unfold like the pages of an epic novel. Each strand symbolizes a moment of growth, perseverance, and commitment to a brighter future for my beloved Tunisia. As a hopeful teenager, my heart swells with pride at the mention of Tunisia. It is more than a place on the map, it is the beating heart of my identity, the source of my inspiration and the canvas upon which I paint my dreams.

At the Cultural Club of Ali Belhouane (CCAB), I discovered my calling. CCAB is more than a club; it’s a vibrant hub where I connect with new people, embrace new experiences, and broaden my world perspective. Through cultural exchanges and projects, I grow with each endeavor, witnessing the powerful ripple effect of teamwork and unwavering determination. Meet me, Bara, a vibrant soul from Mahdia, Tunisia, whose path towards leadership began with a single step and blossomed into a tapestry of meaningful endeavors and inspiring achievements.

Founded by my parents, who were active members in the capital before moving to Mahdia, CCAB became a second family for me. From a young age, I was immersed in CCAB’s environment, and by thirteen, I formally joined. It wasn’t just a club, it was where I formed family members across Tunisia, shared memories, and poured my passion into every activity. CCAB has deeply influenced my personal growth and strengthened my commitment to making a difference.

My journey as a leader began with a meditation seminar in Austria, where I represented Tunisia among diverse peers. That first trip sparked a passion for cultural exchange, igniting my desire to understand and connect with people beyond borders.

Through a German-Tunisian exchange in Bonn, I participated in the “Mini Beul” project, an initiative to experience adulthood and citizenship. Each day, we chose jobs, worked, and earned “beuili,” a special currency, to buy food, clothes, or services. We could even run for or elect a president, ending each day with parties where we showcased our talents. This experience was impactful, fostering personal growth and confidence. Living with a German host family, I navigated the language barrier, learning key phrases and finding creative ways to communicate. Each interaction taught me something valuable, sharpening my skills and expanding my view on leadership.

A turning point in my journey came when I led a community project to revitalize intellectual games in my town. We invited about 200 people to play social games from around the world, including Tunisian games like chess, Uno, Scrabble, Rami, chkobba, Pablo, Belote, Business is Business, Apples to Apples, Dama, Ludo, 4x4, 7/7, Aladdin, Spot It, Makina, Khamsa w Khmis, Harissa, and Enigmes. I orchestrated a successful social intellectual game festival that not only united people of all ages but also fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the community. We created an atmosphere that encouraged players to be energetic and embrace a competitive spirit, while promoting good sportsmanship and including a variety of tasty snacks to enhance their joy throughout this event. At the festival’s end, we held chess competitions and celebrated winners with gifts. This experience taught me valuable lessons about leadership, teamwork and organization, and the power of community engagement.

My leadership journey continued with a training course focused on project management, where I collaborated with four peers to organize a café talk on the dangers of school violence. We invited specialists, including a lawyer, to discuss the legal consequences of violence, offering the audience essential insights. A forum theater dramatized scenarios related to violence, encouraging participation and dialogue on proactive measures for safer learning environments.

In conclusion, my story embodies the multifaceted journey of youth leadership, marked by personal growth, cultural exchange, community engagement, and advocacy. Through diverse experiences and dedication, I have not only honed my leadership skills but also inspired others to realize their potential and create positive change. As I continue to chart my course forward, I serve as an example of youth empowerment and the endless possibilities that arise when passion meets purpose.

But my journey doesn't end here. Each milestone, each lesson, only fuels my desire to explore, grow, and effect change. I’m not entirely sure yet how I want to make an impact in the world, but I believe that with small steps, along with great accidents, come great ideas. Staying open, curious, and committed, I plan to become the best version of myself and a successful woman.

As I stand on the brink of tomorrow, I carry optimism in my heart and a steadfast belief in the power of youth to shape nations' futures. My journey may be one thread, but woven with those of my peers, it creates a tapestry of hope, resilience, and limitless potential. I invite you to join this journey, fueled by passion, guided by purpose, and lit by Tunisia’s enduring spirit. Together, let’s write the next chapter of our shared dreams, for the best is yet to come.
