LGBTQ Journals catalogues several journals addressing topics from health to literature.

LGBTQ Online Resources hosts links to dozens of national resources and organizations.

MSU conducted an LGBTQ Campus Climate Survey in Fall 2010 in which 1,051 surveys were collected from students, faculty, and staff regarding the climate on campus regarding LGBTQ people. The survey was sponsored by the Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, GLFSA (GLBT Faculty, Staff and Graduate Student Association), GenCen, GenCen's LGBTQ Task Force, and the LBGT Resource Center. The results of this survey helped inform the development of GenCen's LGBTQ specialization and subsequent minor.

The Final Executive Summary [pdf] and Final Narrative [pdf] are available to read as well as an article by PrideSource discussing the reports resulting from the survey.

Harassment is a serious issue in academia — including the sciences — that negatively impacts climate, retention, and productivity. Anyone can experience workplace harassment but some individuals, such as those who identify as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, as well as other sexual and gender minorities), are more vulnerable.

The American Physical Society's Ad Hoc Committee on LGBT Issues (C-LGBT), formed in 2014, obtained information through focus groups held at APS meetings, conducted a detailed climate survey and a set of in-depth interviews with individuals who self-identify as LGBT. The committee released the full report at the 2016 APS March Meeting [pdf].

The former Dean of MSU's Lyman Briggs College, Elizabeth Simmons, was a member of the committee that developed the report. MSU's LBGT Resource Center's QuILL Training Program was mentioned as a model for providing resources and training to aid in professional development.
