Hosted by the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP), MSU’s Center for Gender in a Global Context (GenCen), and the National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF), this dialogue spotlighted the transformative contributions of women scholars and future needs in driving sustainable development and leading Africa’s higher education institutions.
Gender Inclusion 101
This workshop, suitable for a wide range of audiences, covered basics of applied gender inclusive practices, including inclusive pronoun and name usage and practice, gender equity within teams and institutions, interpersonal dialogue, and culturally competent gender inclusion from a global perspective.
Intersectionality, Gender, and Sexual Violence Prevention

In recognition of the Take Back the Night national campaign, GenCen Assistant Director Pat Arnold discussed sexual and gender-based violence prevention from an intersectional perspective. Topics covered included cultural competence and global experiences, Black feminist perspectives and practices, queer and trans inclusive gender-based violence prevention, disability justice/anti-ableism, and violence prevention.
Gender and Masculinity

Implemented as part of the UNK and MSU Men's Projects, this curriculum introduced participants to diverse masculinities, leadership, and inclusive practices, as well as basics of bystander training and gender-based violence prevention.
