Call for Submissions

Call for Papers

We invite you to submit your paper to Gendered Perspectives on International Development (GPID). We particularly encourage manuscripts that bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice. If you are interested in submitting your manuscript for review, please ensure that your submission meets the criteria outlined below.

  • Use of Chicago Manual of Style Author-Date referencing format

  • Use of U.S. English, with careful review for grammatical and typographical errors

  • Clear structure (suggested sections include: intro, background, methods, findings, conclusion) 
  • Maximum of 9,000 words (excluding references)

  • Includes a 150-word abstract

  • Includes a list of 5-10 keywords

  • Includes a list of summary points (100-150 words describing in plain English the importance of your work in 4-5 bullet points)

  • Blinded for review

Seeking Reviewers

We are always seeking qualified reviewers to peer-review submitted abstracts and accepted manuscripts. Reviewers that specialize in gender, sexuality, international development, and/or globalization, as well as those that are multi-lingual, are particularly sought.

If you are interest in becoming a GPID Reviewer, please email the following to the GPID Managing Editor at papers(at)msu.edu:

  • Reviewing experience (if applicable)
  • Primary discipline (i.e. Psychology)
  • Areas of interest (i.e. gender violence)
  • Year in graduate school (if applicable)
  • Your CV
